Our programs are fully customized to meet your needs and include a basic (and very necessary!) curriculum that we feel every dog, and owner, should know.  Many common dog problems can quickly and easily be dealt with at the same time that obedience training is taking place.

Our Basic Obedience program will teach your dog how to be a valued member of your family at home, off-leash, because that’s real-life.  The standard cues and behaviors are:

all-four-paws-are-on-the-groundOur Real World Obedience training program includes everything above plus we’ll work on-leash in your neighborhood so that your dog will have the same manners and self-control in public (i.e. on the street, in your car, at the vet, the groomer, the dog park, a friend’s house, on the beach, on a hike…etc.).  We’ll add distractions, distance, duration and overall generalization to the cues above, along with:

• Off
• Take it
• Elementary Heeling
• Proper greetings for people and dogs

Our lessons typically last two hours because, if you think about it, we’re teaching two different things.  “Max” will be learning to put his rear on the floor when asked, but you’ll be learning: how to ask, what to do if he says no, when and where to ask for it, what it’s good for, and ultimately, how to use real-life as his reward.
